Carreira Profissional: um Panorama do Curso de Odontologia no Brasil

Resumo

A escolha da carreira profissional se constitui para o jovem como um fator de dificuldade, principalmente, quando está relacionado com o
grau de nível superior. Ao longo dos anos, o governo federal tem implantado medidas, que incentivam a entrada deste estudante no campo
acadêmico, por meio de programas que facilitam o acesso ao terceiro grau. O curso de odontologia, diante de tantos outros, configura-se como
uma oportunidade de carreira no mercado de trabalho, devido a sua oferta em diversas Instituições de Ensino Superior – IES. Contudo, faz-se
necessário observar a saturação destes profissionais no mercado de trabalho, uma vez que, grande parte destes possui a mesma pretensão em
montar consultórios particulares. Desse modo, explicam-se os motivos de existirem muitos profissionais cirurgiões-dentistas que, em grande
parte, não conseguem ser absorvidos pelo mercado de trabalho. Este artigo tem por finalidade analisar o curso de odontologia no Brasil
sob a perspectiva do mesmo como objeto de escolha na carreira profissional. Para que se alcance o objetivo proposto buscou-se a pesquisa
bibliográfica, a fim de se obter informações teóricas fundamentais para o alcance deste estudo. Por fim, sugere-se que outras abordagens sejam
levantadas acerca deste curso, para fins de diagnóstico sobre carreira profissional e o mercado de trabalho para o cirurgião-dentista.

Abstract

The professional career choice is the young person a difficult factor, especially when it is related to the higher level degree. Over the years,
the federal government has implemented measures to encourage the admission of these students into the academic field, through programs
that facilitate access to the third degree. The dentistry course, among many others, appears as a career opportunity in the labor market due to
its offer in various institutions of higher education-IES. However, it is necessary to observe the saturation of these professionals in the labor
market, since most of these have the same intention in setting up private offices. Thus, the reasons are explained why there are so many dentists
professionals, most of cases, can not be absorbed by the labor Market. This article aims to analyze the course of dentistry in Brazil from the
perspective of the same as an object of choice in professional career. In order to achieve the proposed objective,it was sought in theliterature
in order to obtain basic theoretical information to the scope of this study. Finally, it is suggested that other approaches be surveyed about this
course, for diagnostic purposes on professional career and the job market for the dentist.
